Psychiatric Medication Management Appointments:
Medication Management Service Appointments are one-on-one sessions with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) focused on evaluating and adjusting psychiatric medications to support your mental health.
During the visit, the PMHNP reviews your current prescriptions, monitors effectiveness and side effects, and makes necessary adjustments. Treatment decisions are collaborative and based on your symptoms, goals, and overall well-being.
You’ll also have time to ask questions, discuss progress, and address any concerns with adherence or side effects. We do notprescribe or refill controlled substances (e.g., opioids, benzodiazepines, stimulants), but we’re happy to discuss safe alternatives.
Medication management is an ongoing process designed to optimize your care through thoughtful, evidence-based support.
Psychiatric Evaluations:
A psychiatric evaluation is a comprehensive assessment conducted by a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to better understand your mental health needs and guide appropriate treatment. It’s often the first step in developing a personalized care plan.
During the evaluation, we’ll discuss your current symptoms, mental health history, medical background, lifestyle, and how your mental health is impacting daily life. The goal is to gather a clear picture of your emotional and psychological well-being.
Based on this assessment, a diagnosis may be made, and treatment options—such as medication, therapy, or additional support—will be discussed. The process is collaborative, respectful, and focused on helping you move toward improved mental health and overall well-being.
Psychiatric Consultation:
A psychiatric consultation is a focused appointment with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to evaluate mental health concerns, provide diagnostic insight, and offer initial treatment recommendations. This one-time or short-term visit is often requested by another healthcare provider or by the individual seeking clarity about symptoms, diagnosis, or treatment options.
The goal is to provide a professional, evidence-based assessment and help guide next steps—whether that includes medication, therapy, follow-up care, or referral to other services.
Payment Types:
Mindful Psychiatric Services accepts Aetna, Cigna, Optum, Connecticare (through Optum-commercial/exchange plan) as well as cash pay. A superbill may be provided for out of network coverage, which can be submitted to the insurance company for potential reimbursement.
